Based in: Ipswich, Suffolk
Experience: Hobbyist model

Shelby is a hobbyist model based in Ipswich, Suffolk, and from our first shoot it was clear she has a natural presence on camera. She is new to modelling but came to the session calm and willing to try different looks, which makes a real difference when building an early portfolio.

She adapted well as the shoot went on. A first professional session is where confidence starts to grow and personal style begins to form, and Shelby handled it well. She took direction easily and brought her own quiet character to the images, so they feel real rather than forced.

Her look carries well across different styling. During our shoot she moved between softer portraits and more fashion-inspired looks without losing that natural feel. I look forward to building on our first shoot together. You can read about it in my blog post.

New to this side of the camera?

I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.

What happens at a shoot

Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.

Staying safe as a model
