Neha
Click on the links below for more info.
Neha came to my studio for her first shoot, and it was clear how much thought she had put into it. She was new to modelling but knew exactly how she wanted the images to look, and that clarity helped shape the session. She brought a calm, focused energy and handled different lighting setups and backgrounds with quiet confidence. She moved with an ease that belied her limited experience, and her range grew as we worked through the looks. Her route into modelling is not the usual one. She holds a master's degree in chemistry and has worked in insurance, software testing and medical transcription. That background shows. She is organised, calm under pressure and good with detail. She takes direction well and offers her own considered ideas too. She has always loved the arts, from school performances to organising a college fashion show celebrating India's cultural diversity. Now she is following a dream she has had since childhood. Outside modelling she keeps active with the gym and yoga. You can read about her studio portrait session in my blog post.
New to this side of the camera?
I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.
What happens at a shoot
Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
Staying safe as a model
Checking a photographer, chaperones, and what you are entitled to ask.
Shoot types explained
What implied, editorial, commercial and the rest actually mean.
