Experience: New to modelling

Korbyn is new to modelling, though you would not guess it from how he carried himself on the day. He had a strong presence in front of the camera and adapted quickly.

We focused on the key images a model portfolio needs, aiming for a rounded set that shows range, confidence and character. He took direction very well and quickly learned how to adjust his posture and expression for each look. He could also move between moods, which added depth to the set.

He was keen to improve his posing and gain experience, which kept the session efficient and enjoyable. The result was a clean, strong set of portraits. You can read about our headshot session in my blog post, and find Korbyn on Instagram.

New to this side of the camera?

I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.

What happens at a shoot

Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.

Staying safe as a model

Checking a photographer, chaperones, and what you are entitled to ask.

Shoot types explained

What implied, editorial, commercial and the rest actually mean.
