I’ve worked with Anna Key many times over the past few years, and each session has built upon the last in a way that feels both collaborative and creatively rewarding. I’ve come to know them not just as a model but as a thoughtful and driven performer, with a clear vision and a strong sense of identity in front of the camera.

Anna is primarily known for their work as a burlesque dancer, though their creative output extends well beyond that. Many of our shoots have centred around their involvement with Snapdragon Cabaret, where they’ve been a regular fixture—often performing, sometimes promoting, and always bringing something visually engaging to the frame. They move with intention and bring a layered quality to their images that reflects their wider performance experience.

Beyond burlesque, Anna also works as a draglesque performer and is the producer behind Pixie Ri0t Cabaret. That combination of performance, production and self-direction makes them incredibly intuitive to work with. They understand what they want from an image, but remain open to experimentation—something I’ve always appreciated in a collaborator.

Based between Norwich and King’s Lynn, Anna plays an active role in East Anglia’s performance scene, and our paths have crossed through numerous photographic projects tied to that world. Whether on location or in the studio, they bring consistency, originality, and a strong sense of timing to every session.

New to this side of the camera?

I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.
