Leona and I first worked together on a studio shoot, and it was a good start to what I hope will be a long collaboration. She was fairly new to modelling but adapted to the needs of the shoot very well. She is open to trying different concepts and approaches the work with both focus and a sense of fun, which makes for a good atmosphere in the studio. She is especially interested in conceptual ideas and has a real feel for interpreting a theme. We plan to do more themed shoots together. You can read about our classical studio portraits at Bentwaters in my blog post, and find Leona on PurplePort.
New to this side of the camera?
I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.
What happens at a shoot
Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
Staying safe as a model
Checking a photographer, chaperones, and what you are entitled to ask.
Shoot types explained
What implied, editorial, commercial and the rest actually mean.
Want your own model portfolio shoot?
Paid studio sessions and selective TFP shoots are available from my studio in Rendlesham, Suffolk. Safe-for-work only. Chaperones welcome.
