Rachel is a Suffolk-based hobbyist model from Ipswich who is continuing to grow in confidence and develop her portfolio with real purpose and enthusiasm. From working with her, I can see that she genuinely enjoys being in front of the camera, and that enjoyment matters. It gives a shoot energy, makes direction easier to build on, and helps create images that feel natural rather than forced.
Although Rachel is still relatively new to modelling, she already brings a positive attitude and a clear interest in pushing herself further. She has taken part in different types of photoshoots over the years, and that experience has clearly helped her become more comfortable in front of the lens. What stands out is that she seems ready to move into the next stage of her development, particularly with outdoor shoots, fashion-led work, and glam styling.
I found Rachel great to work with. She approached the shoot well, engaged with the process, and showed that she is keen to keep learning and building experience. That willingness is important, especially for someone at this stage, because strong portfolio development is not just about appearance. It is also about reliability, confidence, openness to direction, and the ability to grow from each session.
Rachel is currently focused on expanding her portfolio and exploring more outdoor and fashion-based photography. That feels like a sensible direction for her, as those styles should give her room to develop range, presence, and confidence in different settings. With more experience, I think she will continue to settle into her own style and become increasingly assured in front of the camera.
She is someone who is clearly enjoying the process of modelling and taking it seriously enough to want to build on what she has already started. I look forward to seeing how her portfolio develops over time.
New to this side of the camera?
I have written a set of pages for models, covering the things nobody explains until you have already been caught out by them. None of it is a sales pitch and most of it applies whoever you shoot with.
What happens at a shoot
Start to finish, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
Staying safe as a model
Checking a photographer, chaperones, and what you are entitled to ask.
Shoot types explained
What implied, editorial, commercial and the rest actually mean.
